Jake (voiced by Zachary Bennett) is the defaultcharacter inSubway Surfers. He is the first character seen on the game and is also the first playable character used when playing Subway Surfers for the first time. Jake is a light-skinned boy with a light-blue jacket, a white hoodie sweater with a red shirt inside it. He also wears a red hat with "Sub Surf" written, with green and red shoes and light-blue pants. He is also always seen holding a yellow graffiti spray can.
Tricky (voiced by Kristin Fairlie) is acharacter that can be unlocked by collecting 3 Tricky's Hat ( 
) tokens. Tricky is a girl with a red hat, black-squared specs, tank top, black belt, light-blue pants, blonde hair, and shoes that looks likeJake's. She is the easiest character to unlock which makes her the second main character afterJake. In theSubway Surfers: Christmas edition she had a limited alter-ego namedElf Tricky.
Fresh (voiced by Kevin Duhaney) is acharacter inSubway Surfers. He can be unlocked by collecting 50 Fresh's Radios ( 
) tokens. Fresh is a boy with a very high military-style haircut, slightly dark brown skin and brown eyes. He wears thick glasses, a green tank top, orange shorts, blue, grey and red sneakers and white socks with two different colored stripes. He is also holding a radio wherever he goes.
Spike (voiced by Carlos Diaz) is acharacter that can be unlocked by collecting 200 Spike's Guitars ( 
) tokens. Spike looks like a "teenage punk rocker" with a white tank top, a black jacket with spikes at the shoulders, light-blue jeans, black shoes with red shoelaces, and a mohawk colored red and gray. He received 2 newoutfits, which are the Rock Outfit and the Punk Outfit. They cost 25 and 40 
respectively.
Yutani (voiced by Sarah Gadon) is acharacter that can be unlocked by collecting 500 Yutani UFO's ( 
) tokens. It's said that Yutani is the hardest character to get, as it requires the most tokens among the other token characters. Yutani's appearance is probably a girl in an alien suit, with the alien suit being green with spots at the bottom, with 2 antennae, 2 large eyes, and 4 arms. The upper arms are the real arms and the lower arms are just apart of the suit.
Frank (voiced by Drew Nelson) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 
40,000. Frank wears a businessman outfit, a black suit (similar to those FBI agents wear), black shoes and a creepy bunny mask which covers his entire face. He has some visible short chocolate brown hair behind his mask. His skin appears to be mildly tanned. Frank is equipped with a black briefcase which he carries in his left hand while running, similar toFresh and his stereo/boombox.
Lucy (voiced by Stacey DePass) is a girl whose looks are styled like some kind of alternative subcultures, most likelypunk. She can be unlocked by purchasing her with 7,000. Lucy is a girl with green eyes and shoulder-length hair dyed in a gradient of blue and pink. She wears a black nose ring, a spiky bracelet, high dark brown boots, blue striped stocking/leggings/tights, a white dress with a dark red corset and a large red bow on its back. Lucy looks like a rebellious teenage girl, judging by her sense of style, and the fact that she chooses to wear a nose piercing. Her head is shaved from the other side which gives it a fun edgy and punky look. She received two newoutfits, which are the Goth Outfit and the Steam Outfit. Both outfits costs 15 and 30 respectively. They change her image to two other alternative subcultures -Goth andSteampunk.
King (voiced by Scott McCord) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 80,000. King is a overweight boy wearing a paper crown. He wears a blue shirt with the words "I'm #1" written on it. He also wears red shorts and red and white shoes.
Tagbot (voiced by Cliff Saunders) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing it with 12,000. It is the second cheapest buyable character in Subway Surfers, behindLucy. Tagbot is a young robot that wears a hat that is the same asJake's. It's hat has the words "Sub Surf" on it. Tagbot is one of the few fastest characters in the game. During theMiami world tour, it received a redesign, giving it eyebrows.This was turned back later.
Tasha (voiced by Stephanie Anne Mills) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 
30,000. Tasha looks like an athletic cheerleader with a short tank top, white socks with red stripes, red shoes, and blue shorts over her black leggings. She also has her blonde hair tied with a blue hair band. During the Mumbai update, she received a new outfit called the Cheer Outfit that costs 15 
. And her second outfit, the Gym Outfit was from the re-released Miamiedition which costs 30 .
Zoe (voiced by Emilie-Claire Barlow) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 120,000. She is the 4th most expensive character and the 2nd most expensive female character inSubway Surfers. Zoe has choppy short purple hair and purple eyebrows. She has light green skin and milky white-gray eyes. Her outfit consists of a red checkered shirt tied up above the waist, blue jeans shorts with black leggings, and red cowboy boots. Her attire looks like one a cowgirl would wear.
Ninja (voiced by Terry McGurrin) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 20,000. Ninja looks like a regular ninja except his ninja outfit is brownish instead of black, with a red belt, and he wears red wooden sandals. Ninja is probably based on Japanese/Asian Ninjas.
Frizzy (voiced by Novie Edwards) is acharacter that can be unlocked by purchasing with 150,000. Frizzy is the most expensive female character in thegame. She is also the third most expensive character inSubway Surfers. Frizzy looks like a young female adult with afro-styled hair, big hoop earrings, a red and white striped jacket, red shoes, dark red pants, and white socks with red stripes and is dark-skinned. She received 2 newoutfits, which are the Rasta Outfit and the Gold Outfit, they cost 15 and 30 respectively.
Brody (voiced by Adam Reid) can be unlocked by purchasing with 350,000. Brody is the second most expensivecharacter inSubway Surfers. Brody looks like a young lifeguard. He wears a shark's tooth necklace, a watch, blue shirt, thongs, and blonde hair with sunglasses on it.
Prince K (voiced by Daniel DeSanto) is a character that can be unlocked by purchasing with 980,000. Prince K is the most expensive character of allcharacters inSubway Surfers. Prince K is a boy with a brown robe, red and green belt, light chocolate skin, golden shoes, watch and sunglasses. It seems that he's from Arabian descent, due to his brown skin color and his unique outfit, even the Prince of it.
Dino (voiced by Brian Froud) is acharacter that can be unlocked by connecting to Facebook. It was introduced in the gameSubway Surfers World Tour: Bangkok. Dino is a person in a blue dinosaur suit with big eyes, three teeth and a pink belly with a zipper across it's belly.
Tony (voiced by Alex House) is the third limitedcharacter in Subway Surfers . He is also the first limited character in the Subway Surfers World Tour series. He can only be purchased onSubway Surfers World Tour: New York. Tony can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000. Tony is a boy who has sunglasses, black finger-less gloves, beige work boots, zebra-striped socks, golden necklace, spiky haircut, blue jeans and a slightly darker blue sleeveless jacket with a white t-shirt inside.
Carmen (voiced by Athena Karkanis) is a Brazilian dancer that appeared as a limitedcharacter fromSubway Surfers World Tour: Rio, and is also the fourth limited character inSubway Surfers. She can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000. Carmen is a Brazilian woman who looks like a woman at the age of eighteen, wearing a green and blue headpiece, and a matching outfit, similar to that of those worn by samba dancers, only tailored to fit a street-style. She wears white sneakers with a blue tongue and orange laces.
Roberto (voiced by Carlos Diaz) is the limited editioncharacter for Subway Surfers World Tour: Rome . He is also the fifth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the third limited character on the World Tour series. Roberto is an Italian boy with a white, red, and green helmet, a black soccer shirt with a few white stripes at the sleeve and a soccer ball logo on it, brown soccer shorts, green and red shoes and goggles on his helmet.
Kim (voiced by Emilie-Claire Barlow) is a limited editioncharacter from theSydney World Tour. She is the sixth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the fourth limited character in the World Tour series. She can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000. Kim was re released inSubway Surfers World Tour: Sydney 2015. Kim is a girl who has light brown hair, which is kept in a loose bun tied with a red hairband. She has blue-gray eyes and tanned skin. She wears a green and blue tank top with a surfer-styled wave/spiral on it, jeans shorts and white flip flops. Her accessories include a shell necklace on a string, sweat bands on her wrists, and a green ankle bracelet.
Harumi (voiced by Stephanie Anne Mills) can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000, and is a limitedcharacter inSubway Surfers World Tour: Tokyo. She is also the seventh limited character inSubway Surfers, and the fifth limited character in the World Tour series. Harumi is a Japanese girl wearing a school dress with blue stripes, striped pink stockings, a red bow, has two bluish ponytails tied with pink scrunchies, a blue skirt with black lines, brownish-black loafers, and brown eyes.
Nick (voiced by Alex House) can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000, and is an exclusive & limitedcharacter inSubway Surfers World Tour: Miami. He is also the eighth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the sixth limited character in the World Tour series. Nick is a suntanned Floridian boy who has green iris eyes and blond hair. He wears a purple sleeveless shirt with a lightning symbol on it, blue-grey shorts, white and green cap with the words "Sub Surf" on it, similar to Jake's and Tagbot's, red glasses on his cap, arm and knee caps, fingerless gloves, gold necklace, purple and green shoes.
Coco (voiced by Annick Obonsawin) is a French mime that appeared as an exclusive and limited editioncharacter to Subway Surfers World Tour: Paris . She is also the ninth limited character inSubway Surfers, and seventh limited character in the World Tour series. She can be purchased with 95,000. Coco appears to be a mime artist. She has navy blue hair, and wears a red beret, regular mime makeup, a black and white striped shirt that ends with overalls at her hips along with black pants and black/brown shoes.
Sun (voiced by Robert Tinkler) is a Chinese acrobat that appears as an exclusive and limited editioncharacter in Subway Surfers World Tour: Beijing . He is also the tenth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the eighth limited character in the World Tour series. He can be purchased with 95,000. He has his brown hair styled in an unusual way. He wears light white makeup on his face and magenta circles around his eyes. He wears a red, yellow and black outfit completed with dark black boots and a green belt.
Alex (voiced by Julia Chantrey) is the limitedcharacter that appears inSubway Surfers World Tour: Moscow. She is also the eleventh limited character inSubway Surfers, and the ninth limited character in the World Tour series. She costs 95,000. She has a red hat with two ear flaps (called anushanka in Russia), black hair, grey eyes, yellow overalls with black tights as well as red boots with thick gray socks.
Eddy (voiced by Cle Bennett) is a limitedcharacter release exclusively inSubway Surfers World Tour: New Orleans. He is also the twelfth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the tenth limited character in the World Tour series. He appears to be a magician. He can be purchased with 95,000. He wears a magican-like hat with a purple line across the bottom, and a skull and a red feather on top on the left side. He has brown skin with light brown around his nose, on the bottom of both of his eyes, on the nose to eyebrows and his forehead, probably from white makeup. He wears a red, yellow and purple 'jacket' and a skeleton-shirt in the inside. He has black pants and white and brown shoes.
Jamie (voiced by Jeff Geddis) i s a limitedcharacter that is exclusive toSubway Surfers World Tour: London. He is also the thirteenth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the eleventh limited character in the World Tour series. He can be purchased with 95,000. He wears a red long-sleeved sweater with a green vest. He also wears a green hat which people normally wear on snowy days and a pair of sunglasses. He seems to be wearing tight black trousers and white shoes with black laces. There is a camera on his vest. Unlike many characters, he appears to be an adult.
Jay (voiced by Cory Doran) is a limitedcharacter that only appeared inSubway Surfers World Tour: Mumbai. He is also the fourteenth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the twelfth limited character in the World Tour series. He can be unlocked with 95,000. He appears to be a marathon runner with a white tank top, white short pants, blue sport shoes and an unique hairstyle. He is also wearing a gold medal on his neck. The number '171' is written on a piece of paper stuck on his shirt. He also seems to be very fit and athletic. Starting from the New York 2014 update, his outfit has been changed permanently. He has a different hairstyle, wears a green headband around his head, his shoes change to green, and his clothes change to the color of the Indian flag.
Mina (voiced by Caitlynne Medrek) can be unlocked by purchasing with 95,000, and is an exclusive & limitedcharacter inSubway Surfers World Tour: Seoul. She is also the fifteenth limited character inSubway Surfers, and the thirteenth limited character in the World Tour series. Mina is a South Korean girl with big, brown hair, brown eyes, turquoise earrings, turquoise and white converse shoes with turquoise lace, blue sweatpants with two paler blue stripes on each side, a yellow belly shirt and a turquoise sweatband on her right arm.
